Mark Anderson – Chief Executive Officer


Mark has worked in the community sector for over 35 years, with ten of those years being in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of WA and the majority of his work in rural and remote communities working in partnership with Aboriginal people. He is dedicated to creating a society that is inclusive and values all people, enabling everyone to reach their full potential.

Mark is committed to working in partnership with Aboriginal people to redress the balance in health, education, employment, justice and life opportunities and to enable Aboriginal people to be healing and leading contributors to the whole community in connecting people to caring for each other and caring for country.

Mark has been involved in developing and building organisations from the ground up, raising capital and implementing major multi-million dollar projects. He was instrumental in establishing one of the leading social enterprises in Western Australia, and has also established a research and evaluation centre to measure its social impact. He has established effective and measureable partnership between individuals, community, government and business corporations.

Mark is in the final stages of completing a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Western Australia. He has recently been working with Ben Elton as Executive Producer and Regional Executive Consultant on his new feature film Three Summers whilst carrying out consultancy work with ScreenWest to support the implementation of their $16M Regional Film Fund.

Mark is a member of several State and National bodies involving youth, community and economic development. For over 30 years he has been involved in national, state and regional boards including the Chair for the State Youth Affairs Council of WA, Lotterywest Gordon Reid Foundation Board, ABC National Advisory Council, as well as having served as a member of the judging panel on the Prime Minister’s Community Business Partnership Awards.

He is Chairman of the Peel Branch of the national charity Lord’s Taverners Australia and up until April 2016 was the CEO of Fairbridge Western Australia Inc, a major youth charity and the only charity in Australia that owns and operates a nationally heritage listed town-site.

Mark’s passion is enabling young people, families and communities in need to reach their full potential, bringing about positive sustainable life and employment outcomes and developing sustainable and inclusive communities for all people. He is committed to the establishment of effective partnership between the community, corporate and government sectors. Mark has been involved in the establishment and running of many award winning state and nationally recognised programs showing a return on investment for all partners and articulating the cost benefit.
